42mm offset should not require rolling. But while you have the wheels off, it wouldn't hurt to take a rubber mallet and tap down the lip that is prone to cutting into your tires. It's not hard and takes all of 2 minutes.

Go for the 235/40's. Nothing like a little extra 'gription'.

ok so I got my car painted and all fixed up after its little accident, here is a picture
I am in need of new tires, and since i need tires, may as well get wheels, hehehe. So the wheels I am looking at are 17x7.5 with a +45mm offset. With those wheels and the hopes of getting my car lowered, what specfic tire would you recomend, it does rain around here every now and then, so having some wet performance would be a good thing. I think I am set on a 225 wide wheel, but i dont know what i should get for height, a 45 or a 50 or a who knows what, what WONT change my speedometer. Thanks for all the help guys!!

225/45/17 will put you around 24.7" in height, which is within 3% of stock (24.9")

225/50/17 will put you at 25.5", and you will def scrape on the fender, or whatever it is that these cars seem to scrape on.
