Hey, was it your car with the Infiniti Kappa 6x9's? If so, did you have any troubles with the install?

How much did you speakers cost?

No, it was mine. I got them through Ebay for $160 a pair including shipping. If you want to check Ebay, type in "infinity kappa" in the search window.
No problems at all installing them in the front, drops right in (with the included plastic spacer on the back of the speaker). The rear required a little trimming of the metal door pull bracket. Try it, you'll like it!

wow $160 is really a good price. they are $250 in crutchfield.

wes, the kappa's are suppose to be better than the reference series right? the kappa's are more expensive but the ref. series seems to have better performance numbers.....what do you think?

im going to turn UP my amps first before i think about the 6x9's

ok so where is Jason??? im dyin here....the credit card is out and eveything

Hi-
sorry got a little overdone with school and work, and well life.
umm, i got the springs and struts along with the alignment done at Big-O Tires. I went to the one in Pleasanton, only 'cause it was so close to my work.
total out the door was $325 for labor.
parts were damn expensive, as i'm sure you know.
apparently, there are no camber or caster adjustments you can make on the car, but after the alignment, i think they were still pretty close to stock. i ahev the printout somewhere, i can take a look if you're interested
any other questions, i'll try to post quickly.

j, so why did you decide to get the struts too? i dont really want to spend the money on them. is the ride going to be bouncy or something if i dont change the struts?

thanks,

the reason i got both was because i found a killer deal on them. couldn't pass up the oppurtunity.

But from what i've read, with just springs you will notice a different ride, and it wont be bouncy. It just wont be as firm as mine. I think the struts help a lot when we were making those u-turns in the lot at stoneridge.
of course i could also have no clue as to what i am talkin about.

OK, here's the scoop on the spring & strut thing. All struts/shocks have a designed-in amount of rebound and compression dampening. In other words, amount of extension and compression resistance. The load rating of the springs have to match up with the strut/shock dampening. If the springs are too strong, they will overpower the amount of dampening in the struts/shocks resulting in a bouncy ride and bad handling. If the springs are too weak then when you hit a bump, the strut/shock ends up taking the impact rather than the springs which results in a rough ride and can cause the tire/wheel to bounce up off the ground thereby causing lost of traction, hence bad handling. I had a friend who installed Konis in a small Japanese car with cut factory springs. He set the Konis to full hard(!?!) thinking he'd get better handling. It was funny following him in another car 'cause everytime he'd hit a bump in the road or go around corners, the whole rear end of his car would leave the road and you could see him and his girlfriend bouncing around inside the car. In case you haven't experienced Konis before, when they're set to full hard, it's like putting solid steel struts in your car in place of the shocks.
