Hankook Ventus HRII H405

im thinking of getting 225/45/17 but i might get 215/45. how long did they last and how good were they, rain, dry???

or im thinking about Continental ContiExtremeContact but those are a little more pricey i kno they are better tho i mainly want tires theat are grippy in wet and dry and last a while.

I had the contiextremes. Sucky dry, ok wet (don't know about snow), and did last a good long while of hard driving. If you have separate snow tires, I'd get a summer tire.

I had ContiExtremeContacts. Great in wet and dry and good even in snow. They were shot after about 17K miles though.

My brother has the exact 2 tires your comparing on his CRV. The Hankook grip dry pavement awesome, hje had no trouble getting that thing on 2 wheels, and very predictible. The tread life isn't the best, but probally about the same as the Continentals. They hydroplane about the same as the Comp T/A's that are on my car, but my tuires have very little tread left. We were also going 80+ when they hydroplaned, and it was not very bad. He replaced the Hankook with the Conties because the tire was too small for the rim. This was fairly recently, but I know that he is well satisified with them. But they are also 20mm wider so can't really be compared in terms of grip. IMO I would say Continentals, but for the price the Hankook can't be beat unless your going to see snow, in which case you might as well get out and walk so you don't go in the ditch. Don't get me wrong, they work in the snow but hardly. hope this helps.

Falken ZE-512. GREAT dry traction, very good wet traction, and better than average tread life.
