Hey guys, I know this is a little early but I thought it would be cool if we could get a small group to this show and have some NECEG representation. Let me know if you guys would be interested. Obviously I'll hound you guys a bit more when the date draws nearer.

heres the semi official write up on it:
--------------------------------------------
Good Evening ladies and gentlemen. This Year's UCONN CAR CLUB CAR SHOW will be held on Sunday, April 9th 2006!!! Spread the word! Now I'm sure you're wondering, first, why we picked the 2nd week in april, and second, why we picked a sunday. The 3rd weekend in april, 15th/16th is Easter Weekend, and the 4th weekend in april is that special time of year that all car enthousiasts park at eastern. Our only option was the 2nd weekend. We originally wanted saturday, however that's Open House and UConn says they need W-Lot as an overflow lot for incoming families. So our ONLY option is Sunday. It's sunday or bust, come rain or come shine. Open house will be a Great time for us to promote the show! While incoming families are sitting in 195 traffic they can take a gander at a couple strategically placed road side banners and signs.

In all seriousness though, we have a lot of work to do before hand. Our goal is to break the 300 automotive attendance mark and strive for 500 cars this spring. We absolutely have the potential to host one of the largest spring shows in the region. For all of those who were not around since the begining, our first show was in the fall of '03 and on 3 to 4 days notice we were able to scrape together 50-60 cars. Come Spring of '04 with a 10-12 day notice we saw numbers approaching the 150 car mark. Spring of '05 brought in 250+ automobiles, thousands of spectators, and a couple super cars; Porsche GT2 and a Ferrari Testarossa.

The #1 reason for the numbers from last year relied heavily on early commitments of whole clubs months before the show. If I remember correctly, our club sign in sheet had 12-15 registered clubs in attendance.

I think they created these categories based on previous attendance. I know they said that if they feel something is awesome enough to get some type of recognition, then they'll run with it i.e. a sweet interior or something.

that would be tits if you brought that thing!

Also, I don't know who here is in "the business" but there are vendor sign ups and whatnot. I think they are just asking for a donation to give away as a prize. I think a mobile dyno is also in the works but it's certainly not definite.
