I said $9000-$10999. That's just with the stuff I could think of, off the top of my head. Could be some more misc. stuff that I've forgotten. That doesn't sound too bad, until you add it to almost 6 years of interest on a $20k loan. Mark

Damn you! Your poll depressed me.... I didn't think I had sunk that much into my car, but after I calculated it... it would be enough for an ADC turbo kit. I'm going to cry... then go back outside to work on the car

Probably around 6k.
Basic boil down
$1000 Engine (all)
$1500 Trans, clutch, flywheel, LSD (all)
$500 4-5 different exhausts (still have an extra one )
$500 Headers
$500 Manifold and intake parts
$650 Suspension (all)
$700 TwEECer/S-AFC/Chip bits
$500+ Miscellaneous BS
I may have made back maybe $500 selling off some stuff. That covers 1.5 sets of tires.
This also does not cover $200 for a laptop, $100 for OBD-II setup, & $350 for LM-1 & home made electronics. Those are all usable on multiple vehicles.

I've got just over $3500.
GL:
2 or 3 alignments, new tires, new timing belt, new water pump, sub, 2 tranny flushes, etc.
SVT:
Had 3 alignments, new tires, set of E0 rims, TH rebuild my tranny, new halfshaft, DSS repair my bad halfshaft, stereo, and random other things.
Damn! Forgot about my old GL... puts the total near $5000. Guess it can stay in the just under $5k group.

Well, if we're just counting mods here, then I've spent around $50 for my K&N filter, and I got a Focus RS aluminum shift knob as a gift, although I had to order it for my wife to give to me at around $50. So, around $100 in mods. Oh, and I got the cupholder fix a few weeks ago, but I don't even think the junkyard charged me for it.
Old car: '98 SVT T-Red
K&N air filter; Ford Focus RS shift knob. Off to be auctioned off somewhere.
New car: 2003 Honda Accord DX Sedan, 5-speed.
