why didn't svt use the supercharger?

Like the post says why didn't SVT use the supercharger from the lightning and cobra on the contour?at least for the 2000 model.I'm sure the "experts" will answer this.


Side note: It would of been awsome for the SVT contour to have been supercharged we would be able to compete with the evo and sti's today.I know,I know you can just buy an ADC turbo kit,but it would of been niceto start off with a supercharger.

(see what happens when your bored and all you can do is think about your car )

search 'roots' in the forced induction thread and see the problems with that type of SC.

the word from teh SVT quest speaker at SZ04 was that they would have gone to a 3L engine in the SVT if Ford hadn't discontinued the car

Actually, the Profile concept from about 1991 had an intercooled supercharger. I wonder if Ford felt that their R&D dollars where wasted on that thing.

Seriously. They were improving the design every year, and it was surely one of their best platforms. No, let's end the Contour, and keep making the Escort for two more years

What about the type of sc the saleen mustang has on it??..vortech i think the brand is...intstead of a roots type.

Improving? I wouldnt say that. I think the quality went down a little bit over the years and each year they decontented more and more features.

Well then I suppose that's a matter of opinion... it's true that some things improved, others regressed. It was improving steadily up to '98 at least, anyway.
