I've got a TurboXS RFL type BOV now that's adjusted for my 3.5psi now. I'm betting I'll have to readjust it once I turn the boost up.

Is there a dual stage BOV that would allow me to switch between 2 boost settings, or am I stuck with adding/removing washers everytime I want to switch boost levels?

You are stuck readjusting it if you change your boost more then a few PSi. Well unless it's over shimmed/adjusted to begin with. In that case it allows more reversion pressure to hit the impellar before it opens. This is what gives you that small range to work with.

How much do you think it will need to be adjusted?

I've used mine for years and I don't remember needing to adjust it again. I set it for when I had around 7psi.
I thought it was just the vacuum that pulled it off when you let out on the throttle but would stay closed under all but really excessive boost.

Well, what I did was rev the engine with it hooked up and if it opened too quickly I added another washer. Maybe I didn't adjust it right all this time? lol
Hasn't seemed to hurt anything that I know of, but get back with me if I did it wrong.

They REARLEY need adjusting. I've only heard of shimming required on car with massive amounts of vacuum at idle which overcome the internal spring and suck the valve open. On a Contour - this is unheard of.

I have my RFL BOV shimmed with 4 washers out of 6 given... If I used less it'd stick open after revving. Once I got the XCal and a good tune from ADC, it appears I'm stuck at around 12psi... Despite incrementally increasing the boost controller, I can't seem to get it to go any higher than around 12-12.5psi...

Suppose I should go with more washers?

On my RFL that is what happens. I was pulling enough vacuum that it was hovering sort of open sort of closed at idle. I just slapped in another washer and it was good...or so I thought.
