hey i just bought a speedo with tach on it from a 96 mystique (zetec) and all the plugs fir the same and i hooked it up on my 99 zetec tour and the speedo and tach aint workin. i was told it should work right when you hook it up. is there a fuse i need to add? please let me know thanks i instant messaged matt r but maybe you guys can help me out too

In case anyone finds this in a search... he needs a cluster from his year (a 99) for it to work properly.

Also check your wiring harness to see if you have a wire coming from pin 8 of the connector. If you have no wire there, you'll need to install one & splice into the tach signal wire... somewhere.... I spliced in at the engine bay near the PCM connector to be sure I got the right wire. 
Must be that jumbly-wumbly thing happening again.

for the heck of it i add a bulb on the coolant light my original one didnt have a bulb i wonder if it will work it didnt come on when i turned the key

Gotta splice into ECU for the tach signal......then to the middle connector of the tach on the back of the cluster.

When I did mine. I got one out of a 96 auto zetec, just like mine, just to make sure it was exactly the same. Worked with no problems.
