Hey guys, sorry I don't get to post here very often but since my son's the SVTC owner I tend to get the news etc through him.

I have a proposal for the Contour owners of this area that are interested enough in their cars to attend the occasional meet/G2G. Briefly, the reason is that the Focus owners and Contour owners seem to suffer a similar stigma, we're both treated like red-headed step children (no offense to the red heads as none was intended). We get the snob treatment (not always to our faces but in one way or another) at the Euro Car Events, and we get similar treatment at the Ford events, especially SVTOA events. We're the offspring of Euro-models and I've always believed that's the cars roots, but few seem to see it that way. Hence my point. Why don't we try to combine our G2G's, we have two SVTC owners that show nearly everytime as it is and they are part of the group, at social events, car shows, driving events etc. I have heard the Contour guys may not be that active on their own but what if we all pooled our resources, regularly?

I am very interested in both Foci and Contours, I notice both in all aspects of my motorhead activities. I double take on daily driver base models. (does that make me weird? :-) Maybe...) So if the area owners are interested, I'm very interested in double posting all our G2G's with both groups and ask nothing in return short of responses for or against.

Example, we had a social/BBQ event friday night with 3 days notice, 13 Focus' and 2 Contours showed (2 missed the picture session). Check the picture to see where we put the Contours....

If my car is drivable and I have the time, I think a g2g would be cool.

Yeah, I'm trying to get meets coordinated with the NECO Cougar guys as well. Perhaps we could all join up for various meets? Let me know ahead of time and I'll pass word over to the other NECO'ers. My car should be going again in about a month (maybe less) :crosses fingers: Awesome turnout you guys got, what part of town did you meet up at?

Some time in February would probably be cool. I'm still waiting on parts... and need to order some more parts before I take my car off the jack stands.

Oh, if anyone is interested.... Surge Street Shop (one of our regional solo2 supporters) is having a weigh day on Saturday, Jan 14th. I won't be able to make it, but if anyone else is interested and needs more info, let me know.

Hey.... if the combined groups are large enough... we could even do stuff that other groups do... like dyno days and stuff

Thanks for the comments, we met at my place in North Phoenix near the I-17/101 stack. Fairly convenient but not very central.

I will post here from now on every time we have a G2G. I would like to emphasize how it wouldn't be a matter of Contours fitting in. We have Contours with us just about every time we meet and they're really very much a part of our regular group. Any new faces wouldn't be fringe dwellers or get any kind of a cold shoulder, we've been trying to build numbers for some time now and I think combining would be a very logical thing to do.

I also understand that everyone would respect the fact that it would be Dezert Focus and the CEG'rs, (and NECO?) and not expect anyone to change that. There's no reason to change the separate groups identities.

BTW, we'd be including Escorts as well. Two of the Focaljetters (Dezert Focus) have Escorts too.....
