im running 8.5:1 compression on my turbo 3.0L. Some are running 9:1. Theres quite a few that are running 10:1 or 10.25:1 without any problems.

Does the 3.0L run 8.5:1 stock or did you swap out the pistons.

Stock 3.0Ls have 10:1 compression remember. Im obviously running custom pistons.

I don't know a whole lot about the 3.0L's. I know the SVT's run 10:1 and the non-SVT's run 9.7:1 Well it's not completely obvious, you could have put spacers between the block and the heads ... not the best way to go, but it would lower the compression.

thicker head gaskets only drop the compression a couple tenths.
