I've gone through two aftermarket gears for my CSVT's sunroof and both of them stripped out. I've done everthing correctly. I alligned the motor correctly and properly lubed the assembly. The last thing I want to do is give up but what choice do I have left? Is there any other option? Does anyone know if another cars model (i.e. Taurus assebly) would fit in the Contour? I'm so fed up with this I could scream.

You could go backwards in technology and decontent the power part...
What I mean by that is get a manual crank setup off a Mondeo...

I was actually wondering if there was anything like that out there. How would i go about getting one of those and how bad will it look in the Contour if it even fits?

I don't get why some strip so easy. I have a E0 and I'm still on my original gear.
And I use my sunroof almost everyday, all year.
