I did the TH fix not too long ago and now today my gas mileage came in at 15 MPG on this last tank! This cant be right... The only reason i did the TH fix was to get rid of the moose, so im about to take it out and just live with the moose for that much gas mileage if someone cant tell me what i did wrong.... My car was getting around 23mpg before the fix. HELP!!

I inserted a 1/2 inch copper pipe cap like this:

i bought 3 and drilled 2 size holes(the 2 reccomended for SVT's in the HOW-TO). the one that i used was the first one i tried and was the 7/32" i believe.

I inserted it at the white arrow:

and it does work, there isnt throttle hang (even though it was never a problem for me) and the moose is gone.

I recently did my throttle hang fix... it cause a few minor hickups with the computer, which seemed to be mostly from not reseting it. I didn't lose any mileage though. I don't see why you would have lost mileage, you've gotta have a problem somewhere else. Just an odd coincidence most likely.

Maybe you accidently unhooked something? I know when that ever since the EGR hasn't been hooked up correctly in my Zetec, the MPG has been piss poor.

When did you put the TH fix in? Summer or Winter?

Fuel mileage suffers in the winter.
You can lose 5%-13% economy just with the temperature change alone.
You can lose 4%-50% depending on road conditions. i.e. gravel, slush, snow.

I put it in 2 weeks ago. it was actually warmer (barely)during the week that it got bad mileage and the roads were clean.

Winter = [censored] gas mileage!

-make sure your tires are not low on air...
-If you are costantly running the defroster, you could kiss your MPG goodbye
-no CELs right?
-Check plugs and wires, could just be time for those as well
-Is the idle on the Tour any different?

You definitely messed up something else. In 9 years, this is the first report I've ever heard of about bas mileage associated with the TH fix. There's no way it is the cause.

This is gonna sound wierd, but what brand of gas are you running? I've noticed that my wife's truck and my SVT started getting worse gas milage about the same time. Turns out, we were both using SHeetz gas (91 octane for me). When we switched to BP, the mileage in both cars went up about 4 mpg. Since you're kinda close, maybe you're having the same thing. Just my .02

sorry guys, unless you're running "GAS STATION" brand gas, 15 mpg in any tour is super-crap

my tour has never gotten good gas mileage....

I *always* (90% of the time) use the same gas... Sunoco 93... and thats what i had when it went bad...

my current tank (the one after the bad tank) it looking better so far... but we'll see
