How are these if the cars used in the winter? I have the 1st style grills on my car but don't drive it in the winter. If I decide to purchase another one for a car drove year round will it stay in tact and not rust up?

They're Aluminum - they don't rust. Aluminum develops an oxide on it which makes them look a little dull, but that's about it.
If you paint these with a clear coat, they'll never dull.

I actually liked my kit more once it dulled a little bit. It took away from the orginal "bling" effect it gave.
