removing the rear main wiring harness so I can rewire the damn thing because some stupid electrical engineer couldn't figure out he needed to have a different insulation on the cam and crank sensor wires.

.....wrong, Karl K (the electrical eng. who released the Contour wiring) did not make them, the issue was caused by the supplier AMERICAN Yazaki.....Building harnesses in a 'cleared new jungle' site in the far east, shipping them to Germany then on to USA tends to pick up a bit of

Teeheee My dad used to work for Yazaki :-p. Though he had nothing to do with the [censored] harness', Marketing doesnt deal with creation .

Then who designed the harness? Usually a company designs something and then has another company manufacture it for them. Or if the supplier did actually design it, then it was Mr K's responbility, assuming he was the senior engineer on the electrical side of things, to review the design before allowing them to build it for Ford. You don't just hand something off to a outsourcing company and say here do whatever you need to do and I'll take your word that it's done right. There is always a review process somewhere. It should have been caught by someone.

Words to make one cringe -- "jungle" and "out sourcing"!

Wonder if Ford still using this fine vendor?

All those consumer reports on previous Ford's "much worst than average" electrical problems. Ah the the bottom line (*^%$&*((&*!
We should all thank Ivan Beoshy for his speech at Stanford in 1985 where he told the business students, "I think greed is healthy. You can be greedy and still feel good about yourself."
I understand none of the execs from Enron, Arthur Anderson, Tyco and Worldcom reported feeling bad, except that they got caught.
Thanks goodness we have this site to share and thanks for the heads up.
If by chance you have time, are you going open up the harness and point the areas that where damaged?
It's and old habit of mine RCA's. (root cause and anaylsis while at the phone zoo.)

Anyone with info on the Fusion's wiring harness? Any Viseton guys still here?
