the 500 is also hideous,and yes,a large car.Little smaller than a Crown Vic,but bigger than a Taurus.

The Fusion is more like an evolution of the Contour to me. The Fusion sits above the Focus, but below the Taurus in the lineup I beleive.

The Fusion, Milan, Zephyr (more lux), are the Taurus/Sable replacements, from what I have read they kind of replace the Tour/Stique in "spirit". Motor Trend liked the handling. I think I need to test drive a Fusion, see how it compares to my Mystique.

The Fusion is larger than the old Ford Contour, which never really took off because it wasn't really suited for the U.S. market. But the Fusion is smaller than the once-top-selling midsize Ford Taurus, which the Fusion completely replaces in 2006.

linky.

Maybe in spirit, but that has to be the yuckiest head unit/console area I've seen in a while. It looks too.... SUVish...

I do dig the instrument panel and the seating looks good, wonder what's up with the boring radio (any nav option?) but it's cool Glad they didn't use those funky round air vents they've been using on other cars!

Ooh, the instruments on the Milan are niiice.

Guys what's with Mercury and their weird names? Our car is a Mystique, and I've heard all sorts of nasty mispronunciation of it -- the last mechanic dude we had fixing the car kept calling it a mesquite, and then almost ordered parts for a Mercury Marquis once O_o .. and that's not the first time I've seen someone do that, lol.

I would have dug the idea of a Mercury Quicksilver.. ya know, cuz quicksilver is another way mercury is called

Usually its Mistake (note my forum name ) Mystic is also common. The first time I bought wiper blades for a Mystique 10 years ago, the clerk in the auto parts store had a laugh about the name, and no wipers that fit. Ford should test names..Ford Confusion coming soon

I hate to be the one who points this out, but the great majority of Mercury vehicles all have names that start with "M". Ford used to do the same thing a LONG time ago.

Used to? Nearly all of their current cars and SUVs begin with either E or F ...
