Any of you guys on here from Louisiana? I'm from Des Allemands, which is about a half hour south west of New Orleans. I got my '99 SVT about 2 or 3 months ago from Zachary, Louisiana, and have enjoyed it quite a bit.
1999 Tropic Green SVT - Rolled 1/24/06 She will be missed.

Nice to see a person from the home state of Louisiana. I live in Slidell. Which is about 15 miles north of New Orleans East. I just bought my contour two weeks ago. So far nothing is done to it, but I am having a grinding problem in third gear.

Third gear gave me a bit of a fit when I first got my car, too. I guess you just have to get used to it.
I currently work Saturdays in Slidell demo'ing houses and/or hanging sheet rock.
I don't get good enough gas mileage to make that trip to work, though; so, I carpool with my bro.
I'll keep my eye out for any CSVTs.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it sounds like your 3rd gear synchros are on the way to the crapper.

From Natchitoches. Thats about 2 hours above Lafayette on I-49. Have the same '96 Contour I bought in 1996.
