Hi,
A friend offered me a 1998 Mercury Mystique LS 5 speed, 122k miles, loaded with CD, leather, moonroof, etc. Only problem is, it needs a clutch. He says the slave cylinder is leaking and to fix it requires a clutch kit. Car is beautiful, and everything works except the clutch. What do you guys think of this car, and what's it worth? He is not firm on a price, and I am not sure I want to have another project.
Thanks,
DC

MAYBE 1500 with it needing a clutch, if you pay to have someone do it expect to pay ~1000 total.

Welcome Dave . I doubt your friend will get any bids above $1000. www.edmunds.com gives it approx. $2000 value (assuming everything works). Anyway, good luck to your friend.

Thanks for your help, guys. The auction has ended with a bidder but I have this sneaking feeling they aren't going to come through. Does anybody want to amke an offer on this car?

I've relisted the car as the last high bidder didn't even contact me. There is no reserve and the bid is at $599 right now with 15 hours to go!

item number = 4599476878

It's a really nice car in need of one repair, although relatively major, a clutch.

What color is that interior? Tan or grey? It's hard to tell.

It was a tan interior.

The car is gone, and the buyer is happy. Told me a story about being fixed and given to a female who was a vitim of domestic abuse. Dunno if that is true, but I'm sure the car will be appreciated!

Thanks for all your help guys!
