Who here has done this?

I'm sitting here looking at the engine bay and have decided to go an entirely different route than everything i have seen. However, the problem is that the turbo on the Contour is clocked differently than what i would like to do. I'm reading up on this, but thought that I would ask.

One thing that I can't seem to find online is the torque specs for the housing bolts.

Clocking a turbo = rotating either the compressor housing or turbine housing relative to the center shaft housing. This way you can rotate the housing relative to eachother

What he said. But remember the housing is Aluminum so don't go f'en crazy on tightening the bolts.

and this is how I clocked it

And I had to spin the cartridge about 180 degrees.

GT35R...on a 3L? That's a 600hp turbo and it's HUGE! I don't know about the streetability of that turbo on a 3L, it would be so peaky.

Well, we'll have to wait and see now?
I'm very curious as to just how that graph is going to look.

not really. If youve seen pics of the turbine and how small it is.....but whats really cool is the turbine wheel. it is one of the most aggressive ive seen, and the dual ball bearings are crazy. ill spool it so quick it wont even be funny. ive used header wrap and thermotec out my ass on the crossover/up-pipe too. plenty of heat and early spool.

from what ive learned so far, my power curve will be peaky for sure, but it will be broad.

of course thats all speculation until i wrap up the build here this week and get here on the dyno once i break her in. i personally think 3 liters is plenty of displacement for a gt35r....

with the right tune you should have no problem spooling that turbo with a 3L...hell STi's do it all the time with their 2.5...
