I have a 2.0 zetec, MTX, recently I have noticed, sort of a whistling noise, at about 4500-5500 RPM, only in 1-3. Im wondering if it has always been there and I've never noticed it, if its bad...  and if any of you hear the same. It almost sounds like a turbo, just quieter.

yeah i have the same thing, iirc its normal (from an old post) but i cant say for sure i like it though...its my pretend turbo  ...

Mine is loud. Sounds kinda like a blower. I think it's just a belt or pulley that naturally makes that sound. Zetecs are notoriously loud.

Great, just as long as nothing is wrong, my zetec is quiet until about 4000 RPM. But who stays under that...

The heavy-duty whistling is normal, it always happens.

Does this "whistle" sound kinda like an air noise? If so, I got that noise too, REALLY noticed it about a month or so ago.

It sounds kinda like a high-pitched whine, very much like a blower spooling up, but not quite.

Oh, I know what this is now, yeah I definatly have that, it only comes in at the higher RPMs.
