Oh how I love my Spec stage III. It has this amazing ability to grab and hold is better then any other clutch I have run across. It can actually grip so tightly that when the engine is spinning along up near redline, the tires are stopped and the clutch is released.....

...you get the idea. Everyone talks about the diff being made of 'glass' but it sounds more like a hard plastic when it lets go.

So, now this brings a dilema. I have a spare MTX75 lined up. Do I just drop that in and cross my fingers like I did with the one that is currently in the car? Do I drop mine, hope for no other damage, replace the shift forks and differential? Do I replace those parts in the other trans and install it? Better yet, do I do that other swap that Daymon and Scot know about.

The car would be back on the road quicker and with a lot less money if I just install the other trans. The trans would probably perform better if I had a limited slip and updated shift forks. I really dont want to install all of those goodies to just take them out at a later date.

FWIW, this is the second trans in this car that I have killed in eleven months. The CD4E and now the MTX75. If you count the AXODE in the Taurus, it makes three transmissions in just as much time.

Pop the other trans in to get it up and running again soon. Just upgrade the trans for the other idea, it'll need it more with whatever final option you choose to go with

After thinking about it for the night, I think for now I am just going to get it moving again and sort out the rest later. I really dont want to drop that kind of money into the trans when I might not even be able to use it in the future.

I also know where there is a `95 Duratec/MTX for ~$300. Just needs a Duratec, which I know of two, a `95 and a `03 Escape.
