Looking for highest quality lines for the price. I think Goodridge has an added sleeve to help aid against rubbing. Anyone know any good online places? In my breif scan they are all about the same exact price give or take $10. Also does everyone do all 4 corners or just the fronts?

I have Goodridge lines. They're pretty good. If you do only two of the lines you will still have a soft pedal as the lines that are still rubber will swell when you depress the pedal - and most probably they will swell even more than before as the SS lines will have no give and hence the rubber ones still on there will have to make up for that. More swell is bad.
I wouldn't skimp Toodles - do all 4!

Looks like SP sells all 4 for $120. I thought they were about $50 a corner. Now the next question. I'm doing the Focus upgrade. SP has seperate PN#'s listed.
95-96 Contour & Mystique w/ABS
Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines, set of 4 DOT Approved 636-GDR-12323
97-00 Contour & Mystique w/ABS, incl. SVT
Goodridge Stainless Steel Brake Lines, set of 4 DOT Approved 636-GDR-12324
Wonder what the difference is. I guess I'll order the early ones. Maybe the way they attach to the hard lines changed. Who knows.

Just took the plunge and ordered a full set from hrpworld.com. $109.60 + $7 for UPS ground. Doesn't look like Goodridge usually sells seperate front/back sets like Aeroquip does.

Yeah the connection at the body may be different. The connection at the calipers should all be the same though as all Contours except the 98 SVT's have the same calipers, and my gess is that the 98 SVT's would have the same connection at the caliper anyway.

I wanted data. Not what you have on your car. Experinces with longevity. Any issues where the lines are fused with the ends. Oh well I ordered them.

http://www.contour.org/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=brakes&Number=1023128I asked this a while ago. I really haven't noticed any difference over stock, but I don't currently have pads that work well at very high temps, so maybe they stretch more when they are hot, and it'll become apparent then.

Your original post was confusing. You want the best lines for the money. Meaning you have an unlimited budget and price is no object? OR You're cheap like everyone else but somehow think you're going to get champagne parts on a beer budget? There's a big spread there. The reality is that any of them will do what you want them to do and improve feel. There are some difference in the style of hoses used in that some weave is finer and some teflon thicker from mfg to mfg. But after 20 years of working with the stuff I can't tell you any difference under my foot. If you're on the 'cost be damned' budget get one spec'd for your need with all SS ends on them. They can be had special order from hose building shops. Never rust and look great. Or...you can add zoomy colored hose covers too if you want. On the beer budget buy the brand names; Goodridge, ST, Earl's or Aeroquip and be satsified that unless your run inot the tire walll the rest of the car will probably rot around those hoses in ten years.

my personal feeling (whether it matters to you or not i don't know) is that brakes are the most important things on the car next to tires. don't cheap out on them. sure you can save 70 bucks and go with a general set of ss lines, but from what i've read and heard about them seemed worth the money for my life and car. don't cheap out on the important stuff.

Sure it matters! I just think you're putting more thought into this one than you need too.
You want a full on spec SS pacakage- end to end with a full cover liner? Let me know I'll see if I can put you direct to my Goodridge custom builder. Off the top of my head I'd say expect to pay $200+ for the four line set. Call me tomorrow and I'll hook you up.

My Goodridge lines are being delivered today. I guess I just wanted to know who had the best lines in the price range. I've seen a few different brands on Contours and not noted what brand they were. I'm pretty sure the GR's had the most protection around the braided lines.
