Good job! Go Zetec go!

It's still not bad for a 9 year old car with a chip, intake, and exhaust. Just slap on the FRPP head and you will be putting down better numbers than your friend's Spec-V.

dont forget the clutch and flywheel, that made a big diff.a co worker of mine is going to port , polish, mill and do a valve job on my stock head whenever i get it off. he seems to think it'll b worth 5-10 hp per cylinder whenhes done. i told him to not expect too much from the zetec head, but hes doin it for free so thats cool. lookin for no more than 10.5:1 compression.

whats that FRPP head all about?

I can pull a similiar 60 ft. and mph, but about 4 tents higher 1/4 mile time.
And you're about 200lbs lighter, I am just over 3000 with 1/2 tank & driver.

The Ford Racing Performance Parts (FRPP) Head is the same piece used on the SVT Focus. Is has a bunch of improvements over the current stock pieces our cars came with. Better flow yields higher power numbers. If your going to PNP a head, why not start with a better casting?

95 Contour, Custom EVO bodykit, 2.0l, PNP Focus head, Stage 2 cams, Je pistons, Eagle rods, 4in1header, 2.5" header back exhaust(complete stainless), D P nitrous, ram air intake, 10mm wires, flamethrower.

Ford optimized the Zetec head for their Ford Racing line. When matched to the FRPP intake and some good cams, the gains are VERY impressive. I've read over on focaljet that a few people have tried to port it but with minimal gains. It comes almost perfect out of the box.

A stock head put out 125.7HP@6k, the FRPP head with stock cams, a FRPP intake, and FRPP header put out 161.5HP@7k. Putting in Stage 3 FRPP cams bumped that to 175.9HP@7k.

It's certainly not the cheapest mod, but 50HP is one helluva jump in power for a weekends worth of work.

BTW, the FRPP head is $875, cams are around $350, springs are about $235, and the intake is $450. All together, it's about $2k with tappets and cam seals. Check out McNews Automotive if you're really interested.

BTW#2, the head would only magnify a turbo or s/c. A stock head running 6psi may put out 189HP. The FRPP head running 6psi may put out 263HP.

BP
