Recently my trip meter has stopped working. The strange thing is that the speedometer works fine but the trip meter is completely dead. Does anyone have any idea what is causing this problem and what is required in order to fix it.

it is driven by gear off the speedo and the speedo motor, check that out but note you have to open the cluster to do that

You know I had the same thing happened to me. The miles wouldn't ring up and I drove about 10, 15 miles that aren't recorded . But I remember a distinctive clicking noise during the few miles that wouldn't put be on the trip meter. But it corrected itself after a while.
