I ran the contour today because I'm working on the escort. I didn't expect to do anything, so I was just running street tire pressure, car loaded down with everything it usually has.
I ran the same time that a buddy with a built engine, bigger turbo'd wrx (though stock tires) ran. I did a lot better than I thought I could in the contour. Wish I had a v6 stick. The course was very tricky. I dnf'd twice out of 6 runs. I'll post the results when (if) they post them up.

Awesome! It's a great chassis, and even stock is fun on the autocross course. I had a good day as well - results coming soon.

I finished 4/28 in PAX - beaten by a SS Z06, GS Mini Cooper S, and DSP Neon. I think regionally I have a very good shot at taking PAX at the odd event next summer, with real tires and some more weight loss. The DSP guys are not a problem, but there's an AS S2000 that splits PAX with the Z06 and Cooper, and cracking into those three will be tough. I keep feeling that the car has way more potential than anyone has given it credit for. At my last event with a National level driver I was hanging right with another fully prepped '89 Si with three decent drivers, and Mike Louie was just as impossible for them to catch as me. A Contour with no options, fully prepped for STS should be around 2700# and 160 fwhp. I think on concrete where the 2.5RS doesn't get any advantage from AWD a good driver could keep this car right with them, even if still behind the Hondas.

I agree, contour is pretty darn good. I don't mean that it could ever be the top car, but if driven right, it can be close.

My results can be found here:
