I hear a clunk from the front brakes and suspect the slide pin.

Can someone show me the way to these little devils?

I can't seem to find a good picture of them anywhere.

Gary

Access is from the back side of the caliper. They have rubber boots with a plug on the end. You need to remove the cap, then us the appropriate tool (usually a 7mm allen, sometimes a Torx IIRC T47) to unscrew the pin. There are two of them. Unless you are removing the pads, take them out one at a time.

These need to be lubricated with a special brake lubricant to eliminate the clunking.

Thanks for the advice.

Clunking isn't usually caused by insufficient grease on the slide pins. Clunking is usually caused by loose components, like loose slide pins, or missing / improperly installed caliper spring.

I was going by what another had posted as far as the clunk being caused by a bind in the slide pins, so it made sense that they would be in need of lubrication.

I guess, as usual, I just need to tear into it because like rectums, everyone has an opinion including the almighty rectum.
