I have a 95 4 cyl contourand it has started to run hot. I have already checked coolant level, it is normal. The Fan does not kick in, it works when you turn on the a/c, however it does not kick it even when the indicator reaches "L" on "NORMAL".

I am confused what sensor to replace, is it the engine temp sensor or would it be the coolant temp sensor?
I did disconnect one of the sensors which is located near the thermostat; the fan works when it is disconnected!!!

How do I know what sensor to replace and would Autozone carry this? How expensive is it?

PLEASE help me out here and am running out of options !

192 is stock, but most people simply put in 180 becuase it's also considered stock... Also, is your lower deflector in place or not?

The ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature) sensor controls the fans, the other sender is for guage only.

Welcome. If you are replacing the thermostat, this Autozone site has some pictures.

New standard themostat, radiator flush and a bottle of "Water Wetter cured mine. I live in Texas with high temperatures, 100C, and my I4 tour now runs in the "R-M" range, was on the "L" and a little higher.
