ok... so my cat somehow got clogged again (says ford) and either needs a new one or gutted... again... my father says do a straight pipe... im up for it, what is involved with this including the stuff that plugs into the cat? do i need to get a cpu chip that tells the computer not to rely on the things plugged into the cat anymore?

Just weld in a straight pipe and plug a MIL eliminator (also called an O2 cheater) into the rear O2 sensor.
Here's a link to DemonSVT's how-to build a MIL eliminator.
If you have to pass emmisions, then buy a high flow cat off EBay for like $75.

could a problem with my wiring confuse the sensors enough to cause a major loss of power (like in a clogged cat) and make it seem as if the cat is clogged?

the reason i ask is because my lights and stuff are starting to be spuratic and act wierd... do things they arent suppost to, ive started to get tons of CELs and earlier i found that mice built a nest in my engine bay while i was on vacation, and ate through one of my spark plug wires...

With the MIL eliminator the ECU will see the cat as functioing perfectly.

The problems with your lights and CEL are probably from the mice doing other damage.
Have the CELs checked.

uh... i did... this problem keeps repeating its self, thats why i kinda am leaning twards some wiring issues... i had to have my cat gutted b/c of this same problem less than 2 weeks ago...
