Nocal Shelby Spring Sprint - 4/16/05

Hey there all.. I got a few things sorted on my SVT since last time and am ready to hit the Open Track again! It's crazy living in Cali with TONS of clubs to race with and some of the best tracks in the world!! Car's in Cali are a love hate thing, lol. If I had more $ like most of these guys out here I would be at an event every weekend!

Last time out midway through the 2nd session my "optimized" SVT Y pipe decided to crack a weld. It was on it's last leg anyway. It also broke a brand new BAT Euro Spec Cougar front sway bar endlink. They were pos's anyway!! (make some don't buy the BAT ones! The balljoint's will break!) I was driving my SVT the other day and it threw a check engine light as well. Another dead DPFE sensor, lovely. 88K and 4 TransX's, 4 Dashboards, 3 IMRC's, 3 DPFE's, 2 O2's, 2 coilpacks etc etc etc... Anyways, I think it's all sorted now. No more exhaust leak either! Now on a Catless SHO Y to a TruBendz Magnaflow. Sounds evil on the heel-toe 5K+ popping downshifts! I was at 182/160 Whp/tq before on stock exhaust and hacked up Y/Carsound cat. I definitely need to get it back on the dyno but the butt dyno feels good! I am going to check the "Mustang" Dyno Friday at Thill, hehe. Last time out I had some tough love from the 4.6 Cobra's. The GT's were no problem (Shelby Day), but I just didn't have the horses to get around the Cobra's(NA and Obvously SC). I could ride parked bumper through the infield, me on Azenis's them on Hoosiers! Hopefully I have some more on tap now. I just need a little! It was damn close.

If you are in Nor-Cal come by on Friday and check it out. Be sure to stop by and say Hello! I will be there all day, in my SVT. Just bringing myself and tools! Hopefully I will get some cool pics again.

Here's the list of cars registered so far. Im in Yellow, lot's of fast cars in every group! A lot of the sketchy high speeders I don't even have to lift though

AWESOME! It's great to see some other O/Ters here. I have an event at the end of the month and I can't wait. I'm pretty psyched, this will be the fourth this year.

Do me a favor, let me know how you fare against that 350Z and any pertinent mods he may have. My buddy has a 350Z and he's having a hard time believing my car would be competition for it.

Good luck!

Are you willing to part with any suspension secrets? That's awesome that you're out there doing this. That's definately something I missed out on when I was in Cali was racing. Always wanted to run at Willow Springs since it was so close to me but never had the fundage. $3,000 - $5,000 is what I always got quoted because I don't have a fuel cell and cage.
Well best of luck to you and let us know how things go.
