on a non svt duratec? maybe...prob between 160-165 at the wheels..

i have:
k&N cone optimized y catback SVT UIM and TB
and i put down 157tq\159hp....
i would certainly think headers and a chip would net another 10HP. if i recall corectly, the headers alone are worth 9hp, but i haven't looked at the graphs ia a long time.

Headers take you out of STS in the Contour. ("Emissions" clause.) STX legal, though.
You could go with underdrive accessory pullies, Magnecor plug wires, and a good intake cleaning/rebuild in addition to what you have listed.

Yeah, non-SVT obviously. If you got 160 hp, it sounds like headers and a chip would easily get 170 hp. So about 30 crank hp for ~$1300, huh? Damn, I'm getting power-hungry. I'll see how I feel after the intake and y-pipe.

You seemed to miss the part about headers (removes pre-cats) or an aftermarket Y-pipe (alters stock cat) moving you out of STS.

I'd guess mid 160's with a custom tuned chip. 160ish with a typical chip.

I had stock precats at that time.
When we raced my 2.5L was slow for my 2.5L; scary thought eh... It's now a hell a lot faster then my 2.5L ever was.

Yeah, I didn't realise about the MSDS. I didn't realize they removed the precats. Oh well, they were too expensive anyway! So 20-30 hp gain with a good tune from ADC over y-pipe, intake, and trubends? What happens to the curve? I'd really like to see any graphs from just breathing mods, I'm having trouble finding any.
