I am trying to find out where the Intake Air Temp sensor is located on my 98. I want to build a intake but I don't see where this sensor is. If any of you guys have a picture or even a description of the location please pass it along.

Thanks,
Jon

According to Haynes, 1998 Zetec, it is located in the air inlet duct.

The IAT sensor is connected to the underside of the black rubber accordian tube. To remove it from the tube you can just pull it out.

Depending upon when in 98 yours was built, it may be built into the MAF.

If your have four wires going to your MAF, you have a seperate IAT. If you have six wires going to your MAF, then the IAT is built into the MAF housing.

I'm glad that you posted that. I went out to my car and felt all around the accordian tubing and didn't find any holes. This will actually make it easier to build or modify an intake seeing that I dont' have to drill that hole.

On a side note;
The IAT should be as close to the combustion chambers as possible for the most accurate reading to the ECU, for best performance.

I have 6 wires for my MAF, and I just purchased a module for my IAT Sensor. I noticed in the Hanes book the wires for the IAT Sensor are supposed to be brown/white and violet/white, which I found on the MAF. Now, my module has red/black wiring, which of the wires for the IAT is negative/postive?
