I'm in that same boat. I grasp the concept, and context of what he does, though I couldn't begin to fathom how to duplicate his efforts.

Sounds really interesting... I bet that I use some of your programs without even knowing it. I am in a similar situation (working for SAIC at a Lockheed Martin facility). I work as a systems integration analyst utilizing different simulation software for FMS cases.
