Well I'm a little less than local, but I chose to respond here rather than CI anyway. I can somewhat relate to the situation as my girlfriend's dad is going over there in about two weeks (August 8th, IIRC) for relatively the same thing. One year open contract.

She's freaking out of course, generalising that Kuwait is in the Middle East, so of course it must be bad. It really isn't. They're very modern over there and actually they make a lot of damn good money and have some expensive stuff too.

But back on point. Looks like you'll be making a ton on top of another ton of money. Hopefully this isn't the only thing swinging your decision. There's a whole different culture and all over there. Being in Texas, I assume you're already used to obscene temperatures, but it still gets like that almost all year around over there.

Will you be selling the Contour before you take off? If you do, you might have a potential buyer if we can arrange to split shipping and you accept credit cards!

Aw hell Ray! Yes, we'll all miss you.

Ever stop to think about how "well" an SVT would run in 120+ degree weather?

Talk about heat soak ALL the time.

But, yes... I could take the car, if I wanted to.

I'd miss you and I've only even known you for like a month! Dang it it would really suck to lose one of the few people I even know exist who likes this car, but If you really have to...

After edit...
Ok I just looked at what you would be making and stuff. You should do it man. If I had a family, and had a legitimate offer like that, I would take it. Unfortunately, I believe in the family over friends policy. To be able to provide for my loved ones anything(almost) they ever needed in life is a goal that so many strive for, and you have been offered a way to accomplish it at a relatively young age. As long as you or your family are in no danger, I would highly suggest taking up that job offer. Seriously, though, you just had a kid right? The chance to bank like that should be a no-brainer. Anyway, that's my two cents.

Well, I appreciate the sentiment, but the fact of the matter is that I am still awaiting my "offer letter" from them.. outlining their offer to me, with all the details of what they are willing to give me.

Its not official unless/until I get an offer letter from them..
