I have a 1998 contour with a 2.5 v6 DOHC and I just went to autozone and they told me P171 was mass air flow sensor and P1131 was Oxygen Sensor. What I need to know is this right or what I need to do to get rid of the CEL. The car runs good but sometimes rough idol. Any help would be great.

First off, good job for getting the codes. Second off, don't listen to the autozone guys. Actually, I don't really know...but if the people on this board are consistent, then they'll tell you to not listen to them...

I wish I could help more...

Probably an intake manifold vacuum leak with the additional possibility of a tired upstream O2 sensor on the firewall side.

The rough running condition plus the P0171 code are very strong indicators of the vacuum leak.

The P1131 may be due to the vacuum leak.

I would address the intake first, reset everything, then see if the P1131 comes back before replacing the sensor. OTOH, if the O2 sensors are original, I'd probably replace them anyway as a maintenance item.
