Ok my idea of renting the track was a little over reality. It just costs way to much.

However there is a company called redline that sets up events. We will be with other people but the cost is only like $125 per car/persson

see link here

http://www.redlinetrackevents.com/event_august27.html

And yes ary you can rent transmittors for time trials and its $40 for the day.

Now i was talking to the people at redline, they said if we get enough people we can get a discount so right now id like to get a general idea of who would come.

This is a self tech inspection thing, basically you check your own car.

Here are the regulations:

You do need a helmet rated Snell 95 or better.

Your car will have to be free form any mechanical defect, make sure your brakes and tires are in good shape. It can be very hot on the track in the summer time, so check your coolant and oil levels prior to taking your car out on the course. If you have any questions about car set up, please send me an email.

Here is the link to the tech inspection

i am at odds (as i posted in privious thread) my dad wants to stick with speed ventures (speedventures.com) and i want to go w/ redline. i am sure they are identicle he just wants to be with the same peeps i guess. but, with that in mind, i am planing on taking a car (dont know what i am taking yet) but put my name down. you should find out how many people we would need to qualify for a "group price" just for reference.
i also would like a transmitter (i think would be more fun) so if you have to put your name down now i will do so.
this is the full 2.4 mile track right? looks very difficult and very quick from what i see/hear. and the next time you ask (not of great importance) but if they have a pump with race fuel (100 octane). i am just curious about using it; it does cost 6 bucks a gallon but i have heard from others it burns slower and uses less fuel when tracking.
ALSO - i am bringing scotch 3M delicate painter's tape (the blue stuff) for my car; track work does alot of wear and tear on the body and it is a must IMO (the thicker the better; easier to apply in large areas).

i will keep you posted chris about what we are planning to do, but as of now i am in! if they want a deposit or someting i am more then happy to do that. the dates posted,
one on september 23 the other december 16,are probably doable too for me to get my car up and running.

Either of those would be a WHOLE lot better than August. I don't think you understand just how HOT it gets up here in the Summer. The high at me house was about 110 yesterday. Mid August to early September is the hottest time of the year too. For August, you can count me out. If we do this in September or December, I should be good to go.

Yes they do. I belive Willow uses Unocal 76 103 octane. At least that's what they used last time I raced.
