Contour Enthusiasts Group Archives Forums General Troubleshooting Keyless Entry System - A few Questions

First off I wanted to thank you guys...I posted a few weeks ago and got great advice, bought the contour and have been extremely happy thus far. That said I want to put a keyless entry system on the car like this one:

So int he ebay text it says to make sure that your car is programmed; how do I find out if the car is set up for this without having to bring it to the dealer? How hard is it to install and program this sytem? And like I said how do I know if its ready to accept the system

The below posting shows what to look for. The white plug with the yellow (lower left in the picture) usually wrapped in black paper tape, is the keyless entry programmer plug. It was hanging down a bit in the upper right corner of the carpet passenger side, on both of our remoteless cars, so I got those same remotes off e-bay, programmed them, and they work.

Also, there is an actuator on the trunk latch, held with 2 torx head screws, but you have to remove the trunk liner to see. If your car is a Duratec engine, you have a good chance of having the keyless.
