so i have heard from a ford tech that eibach makes the stock SVT springs, and BAT makes the stock SVT struts...i heard this in February, but it now occured to me that if this is true, why did he buy my eibachs, and BAT struts? i dunno, i just wanted to throw that out there.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe BAT is just a distributer. They don't manufacture anything by themselves, they simply import supplies from others. I have talked to them several times (on the phone) and from what I understand, all of their products (the ones labeled "BAT") are usually made other companies in Europe, not by BAT themselves

I'm sure that is not correct.
BAT doesn't make anything. They are a retailer. They sell things that other people make. In a few cases, they put their own name on them.
As far as I know, Eibach does is not the original equipment supplier for anyone. I doubt if they are geared up for that level of production.

I was under the impression that svt shocks/struts are McPherson (sp?)

McPherson is just the type, not a manufacturer.

I thought someone posted a while back that the svt struts where made by tokico for svt I'm not sure about the springs. I believe that McPherson is named after the engineer who designed the strut before that they only had shocks. He came up with the strut/spring being a structural part of the suspension replacing the upper control arm.

I understand that Tokico is the vendor that supplies all of the Contique struts. Tokico came close to supplying an aftermarket performance strut for our cars but determined that the market was too thin to support it.

I must admit that I can't imagine the springs being made by eibach. The struts .... considering BAT get theirs made 'apparently so I read once' at the same factory that makes the ST struts this could be a possibility. I wouldn't hold too much to the idea of them being similar to off the shelf prouducts though, that's for sure! If anything, I can imagine Ford sharing the ST collection with SVT, this especially considering the Mondeo was designed in Europe, and was out for some 2 or 4 years before it's conception in the North American market. If it was outsourced then there is a possibility that company such as BAT utilises the same 'base' design for their struts ... as for Eibach's, can't imagine any link in there at all.

IIRC, Eibach makes springs for the VW Jetta GLI and I think the 337 but those are the only two I know of with OEM Eibachs.
