I just installed my wideband and I found out why my mileage is so bad. 10:1 a/f @ WOT even less at times. 14.7:1 @ idle thou. It still feels really good, it kills my friends STS(by a lot). Can't wait till I spend a day or so and program my chip to put everything in the proper ranges. I will have to pay a visit to the dyno for a couple of hours once I finish setting the a/f's but it will be worth it. Still some good time left for hitting the track this year, can't wait to see how much better I run once I tune it properly. Doubt I'll get any lower than 13's. It will all be on video so I'll post a link.

welcome to the club. I think everyone at SZ 05 that dynoed and had no tuning, pegged the air/fuel at 10:1.

Did you by chance check your A/F with the 100 shot? I'd almost be willing to bet you're running lean with the 24# injectors. Sounds like you've got a pretty healthy setup. You might benefit from upping the injector size, and tuning for them.

I thought you were running 24's just fine with your nitrous?

Congrats. Glad to hear there is someone out there who actually checks and tries to tune their car.

I've got some 36# injectors that may soon be for sale since I'm going to have to up to 42's I think.

The 24#'s were ok for the smaller shot I was running. I'm now doubling the shot, and am running 39# injectors. Unfortunately, I'm not 100% certain what this shot equates to, a the VCN-2000 kit tells you what percentage you're shooting, and not the actual HP. It's probably close to a 100 shot though, with my motor being ~200fwhp.

I have not yet run the nitrous with my wideband. I am going to wait till I get my MAF table in order before I spray again. I might go for those 36lb injectors if I max the 24's.

what is considered the proper a/f ratio on these cars??? I know i threw a couple cel codes the other night right after letting off the gas quick... got a p0172 and a p0175 (i think if i remember right) and they indicated that both banks were running a little too rich....

It depends.

Going rich on decel is normal because you are cutting the air off before the pcm cuts the fuel. Best just to tune your WOT fuel curve by adjusting the MAF transfer function until you are in the recommended limits and then let the computer take care of everything else.

For no issues, no controversy and ultimate safety you can go for 12.7:1 A/F all the way across the board.
