I read recently that ADC is going to make a more affordable (~3.5K) turbo kit for the SVT. I assume if I were to purchase it, have it installed by a reputable mechanic, that everything should go ok?
Would I still need to have the car "tuned" for this set-up, or does ADC include that in the purchase in the form of a new chip?

If by everything go OK, do you mean fit correctly and work? If so, then yes.

If by everything go OK, you mean not ruin your motor? Well, that one is up to you. Installation is only half the battle. . . .

By "OK" I was asking will the car still be the daily driver it is now, and if I am not too crazy with enjoying the new power, is it safe to assume the car will still have some longevity?

You would need your car tuned with any type of significant change. Period.

I'd expect the kit to come with a chip that is close for the setup. I'm sure it will be rich and under timed though. (i.e. you'll still need a "real dyno" tune)

If tuned correctly yes.

As far as power, your front diff. probably wont hold up too long if it isnt already replaced with an LSD. Otherwise, as long as you dont try to produce more power than your engine is willing to provide, you should be OK. If your tranny is already grinding due to wear, dont expect the syncros to hold out much longer.

This is all assuming your engine is well taken care of. If its been abused in the past, or isnt running well now, adding that much power will only make it deteriorate faster.

Mileage doesnt matter. I would take a high mileage very well maintained car anyday over a low mileage abused one.

I purhased the car used around 1 1/2 years ago. I purchased through a dealer who sold the car new and the original owner maintained the vehicle at the same dealership. The short answer, yes, I beleive the car was well maintained, and I take car of it now.
The tranny shifts well, but since the car has 72K on it, I would probably have the fluid changed. Any recommendations?
Secondly, your mention about a LSD is probably a good one. Any recommendations and approx. cost?
Lastly, anyone out their purhcased the ADC Turbo, and are you glad you did, or not??
Thanks for all the input.

the quaife lsd is about $500-600 depending on who u buy it from + cost of installation. I believe the Torsen is a little bit cheaper. I have the ADC turbo kit and I am extremely happy with it. Never had any reliability issues with it at all and ADC had great customer service when i purchased through them. Both Keith and Chris are a great bunch of guys. Cant go wrong.

I can't provide anything as far as owning an ADC kit, but i do agree that Keith is a great guy, when i went out to AZ and stopped by ADC he was a great guy, easy going and really is willing to help the consumer rather than just make money.

I have a chance (within the next day) to purchase a new Vortech Pin Drive Supercharger for $2900. What does anyone think about this option compared to the ADC Turbo approach?
Peace,

Joe
