I know that this could probably go in the 3L section but im trying to ask LOCAL people who have done the swap and how much it would cost me. My car has over 220k Kms on it and im kinda starting to plan what ill do when it goes down the pooper. Has anyone local done the swap who i would be able to talk to or convince to help when bribed with beer and pizza? Even someone who's cari can take a look at. And has anyone seen or does anyone know of a place where i could find a 3L running to buy up for the swap? Any help would be great.

all i can say is good luck and tell us how it goes when you get it done, but if seen some shops in town that do engine swaps for a small fee, i think it was somewhere in the 600$ range but i'm not too sure on that, about 10 hours times about 60$ for labour in a regular shop not a ford shop. But i'll try to find that information, and i'll post it on here.

Im gonna try to do the actual swap labour myself. I have an engine hoist and have pulled and put in many motors. Although this will be my first FWD one.

I had an engine swap done few years back (actually 2 swaps) sadly before i found CEG and heard about 3L swaps. The shop that did the work is in the West End on 178 Street and 108 Ave its called Hedd Automative. The guy to talk to is Dwayne, he is pretty familiar with contours now, thanks to me. costed me about $800 for the labour not including parts but this was 5 years ago, i dont think his rates changed much if any.
if the engine ever goes again a 3L will be going in for sure. i got 260k on my car but only 80k on my current engine and 45k on my trans.
