Thats what I did for mine. The Tang Band 6.5" is really bigger than a 6.5" its almost 7"... Sounds good though...

99MystiqueATX - Do you have any in-car pictures of your setup? I remember seeing your work in project pictures, and you were going to clean it up a little more. Any pictures? I've got an 8" J/L Audio sub that I'd like to use in that same spot.
Also, what size amp do people suggest I run for an 8" sub? Excuse my ignorance as I know ZERO about sound systems, but could I use the same amp in the future to run upgraded interior speakers?

Mark, the MTX is a 200WRMS sub and I have a Two channel MTX amp also rated at 200W which I have bridged right now to run my 10" MTX. So I'm thinking it will be enough for this application. Plus it's compact in size.

Another ?
Is it easy enough to take that cover of the rear deck?
When I looked at it a long time ago, it looked like a PITA to remove.

This would apply to your SVT, or any Contique with fold-down rear seats linky

In retrospect, it was all downhill from here. RIP, CEG.

no, it wasn't hard at all, though i'm a little foggy on the details... iirc it wasn't too tough to remove.

It really isn't bad at all... You don't really need to remove the side pieces, it is easier if you remove the platic pieces but not necessary.
You just need to pull out the pins that are behind the seats and then if you flex it in the middle and pull it forward it will come loose.
As for an amp, You won't need as much power with an IB/Free Air setup. My amp has more than enough power to run this sub. If you plan to possibly use the amp to do something else, you may want to consider getting an amp that you can bridge into 1 channel like mine does.
No, Contour_Phoenix_When, I haven't had it bottom out yet, the Tang Band has a VERY stiff suspension, pretty much perfect for this application...
