Guys, I'm still new with a digital camera. I tried to use photobucket to post pictures and couldn't make it work. So here is an attempt with car domain. There are two pictures of the car and then 5 pictures of the brakes including the tool I use on the clips.

I guess I still haven't figured it out. I can't find any instructions to tell me how to link it. You should be able to find it under my car domain name "jjhaven".

See if this works (same as edited above):

Big Jim, you need to get the URL of the pic, then click on Image near the graemlins. If you are using photobucket, be sure to copy the URL box. I'll put your pics up for you.

Ya

And to post the big pics, you actually click the pic so that the seperate window pops up, then right click, go to properties, highlight then copy the location (address) of the image...then back to CEG...click the image button and paste the location (... or address):

The nice thing about photobucket is that you can use larger pics with them. When you look at you account, you should see something like the image below, you just click the box that is circled, copy all that text, and paste it into the posting window here on CEG and it should show up.

(I'm 21, own 3 cars and have never taken a car to a shop for anything besides tire balancing) Here's the outline. One day after a hard stop (the next day) i noticed my car would jerk to the left when i hit the brakes, didnt matter how hard i hit the brakes. It isn't like a constant pull you off the road, but it is a considerably big first jerk when the brakes first start to grab. Also the steering wheel turns about 1/8 of a turn to the right (opposite way the car moves). I tried new SS lines, thinking i might have a leak. fixed nothing. I cleaned and relubed calipers and actually replaced one. fixed nothing. I switched to full synthetic brake fluid. fixed nothing. I've checked all steering and suspension components and found no culprits. Steering by the way is perfect, no slop, tight as ever... but jerks when the brakes are applied.

anyone got any ideas?!?

sometimes people dont follow up when they get something fixed, but im going to incase this happens to anyone else. The culprit... [drumroll]...
bad passenger side LCA bushings. Replaced the right side LCA everything is grrrreat! LOL .. well except i dont have quite the pedal feel i had before all of my brake drama.. and i have added SSlines in the process... odd but oh well it stops straight and true

Question. I was searching the brake forum, because I noticed something on my car this past weekend. I was painting the calipers, and noticed that this retaining clip is missing on my passengers side front caliper. I had some work done there a month or so ago (new wheel bearing) and I don't know why they might have taken this clip off, but it is missing. It may have been missing for much longer, I don't know.

How big of a problem is this? Where do a go for a replacement? What does this clip "retain" the pads?

At the same time this work was done, he said that rotor was stuck/ rusted on there so bad he had to cut it off and replace it. I want to replace the other three (they are rusting pretty badly I noticed while I was painting). Any tricks to getting them off? I don't have any way of cutting them off. WD 40, PB Blaster, etc. would that work?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone may be able to offer.
