I saw my 2nd svt in Kelowna yesterday (not including my own). Black, I think it was a 00', had the spoiler, some bling rims. Looked clean. I gave the driver the biggest nod ever.

That makes 4 svts in Kelowna. My t-red 98.5, that 00' I saw, a silver 00' that I tried to buy from this guy numerous times till I bought my own (ha, I left notes on his windsheild all the time) and another 98 black, on a sale lot that will never sell (200kms, chipped paint, sunroof motor is fried, alt is almost shot)

Couple more owners and then we can have a meet! lol!

Hi:

I just took a look at that black 98 at that car lot next to Office Depot. I am a big ford fan, you may have seen me around town with a silver Mustang with a Steeda sticker in the window.

Anyways, I am looking for a project car for next winter to work on, I thought an inexpensive contour SVT would be awesome so I checked out the black one.

What a piece of crap, sunroof was busted, overspary all over the place, A/C did not work, the window tint was done in Ontario, etc, etc...

The dealer said it was on consignment by an owner that just moved here from Quebec. He then went on to say that the owner was out of town right now at the "auction"...nice way to get caught in your own lies!! He also told me that these cars were never sold in BC, only in Quebec and Ontario so I would never see one like it again in Kelowna. I had to laugh hard, telling him that there were only 2 dealers in BC that was able to sell them and the had tons...

All in all, I think the car is worth about $4,000. What do you think? Maybe I will put the offer in??!!

Howdy fellow BC'er. Well you did say "project car". If hardly any amenities work but the engine/tranny/ suspension (check: rust from Q-bec) then sure why not. I've read about many a project and they seem to agree that it costs about 50% more than what you plan.
Good conditioned CSVT's are around 10-12 still. So if you can get it for $4000 then it may be good for a project.
If you know what you can with it, any car be a good project, and keeping within your means. I'd say that it being trashed and broken in places, he's not going to sell it soon. Go in with cash and don't go higher.
Maybe someone can give poopie some figures as to how much he should aim to buy it for.

Nice to meet you. And maybe post a picture of your 'stang cause I recall a many nice cars while I was there last week.

Hey. Yeah, I test drove that black SVT before I bought mine. The one beside Office Depot. Too high KMS, Sunroof motor gone, rotars were very bad, etc. I even took it to Ford up the road to get checked up on. They gave me a honking list of [censored]. He was asking 12,000 at the end of last summer. I drove by yesterday, it was at 7,995 or something. Too high already.

The reason the price is up there is because it is VERY hard to find an SVT around here.

I randomly checked Autotraders one day, and found mine up in Blind Bay. I paid 10,000 for a nicely lowered svt, TRED, 125kms, 2 sets of rims and tires, k&n filter, new watertank, etc.

I still paid 1500 more then I wanted to, but I had to get it.

Do NOT get that black one, it will sit there till it goes down to 5,500...then maybe i'll buy it for parts, lol.

Oh also, to the owner of the silver SVT parked outside Beachcombers, SUP!!!???

I also saw a black SVT with some decked out rims a couple weeks ago, but I think it had calgary plates.
