I have an stock 89 mustang LX that hasn't been driven in 5 years, i just taught myself how to drive a stick about 1.5months ago. My fastest time of the night was 14.80@95mph and my 60' was 2.2. I was happy to get into the 14s seeing how it still needs a tune up and other small things. On the stated run, I raced a camarro that ran a 2.6 60' and a 14.85@101. Can someone explain to me how his speed is so much higher than mines and how do u think i did

I'm not sure what a '89 stang should be able to do, but it sounds pretty good to me! Especially since you haven't even been driving stick for long.
As far as the 60' and stuff I can't help ya. Good job though!

You actually didn't too bad if the car is indeed bone stock.
the difference in MPH can come from a few things hp/weight ratio and gearing are problem the reason.

that is a good time for a stock '89.....now get a tune up,remove the air silencer/add k+n,and some rear gears and you should see some low 14's easily...

You must have a few mods done to it to get into the 14's and especially to trap 95mph.
Stock 5.0's are quite slow.

Higher trap indicates more horsepower, and a lack of grip.

do huh? Greg, being a smart one, depending on the variables of the 5.0 (no options LX, etc) people can get into the 14s quite easily with just bumped timing alone.... Originally posted by DemonSVT: You must have a few mods done to it to get into the 14's and especially to trap 95mph.

Nope, my only mod is a B&M shifter, i heard stock 5.0s were capable of doin 14s, i just wanted to see what u guys thought. And about trapping at 95 i just stay in 4th and by the time i get ready to hit the redline the 1/4 is done
