My 3L was supposed to be done and running on the 30th of this month. Too bad Ford couldn't come up with a remanned clutch for me in time...jaggoffs!!!! What is everyone's 2 cents on this one...I would like to go aftermarket, but do I then need a new flywheel? What about the cost...I get all ford parts at cost, and an aftermarket may cost much more . Nonetheless, I want my car done, right, and the first time. Thanks in advance for any input, opinions, or help of any kind!!!!!

Sean

That sounds about right from what i've read too. I heard the spec 2's are no good cuz they wear fast anyhow... something about the material they're made of.

SP Motorsports carries the SPEC clutch lineup:

SPEC Clutch Lineup for the Contour
SPEC Clutch Lineup for the Contour in Combination with Flywheels <---Pretty spendy

I know you don't HAVE to replace your flywheel, you can have it resurfaced somewhere. But if you ever think you're going to upgrade, now would DEFINATELY be the time to do it

Defintiely do it now, you'll regret it later. Thats if your planning on keeping the car for a while otherwise if your planning on selling it id use the original....So buy the good one and keep the ride!
