1998 SVT Contour
Ported Oval port heads
SVT intake manifolds
SVT cams
Street Flight chip
Updated shift forks
DMD
Spec Stage 2 Clutch
190 fwhp, 205tq
Car has a 2003 Mercury Sable 3L with 12k miles, car was tuned by Chris Johnson from SCT. Engine swap done by Blackcoog- thanks!
I know, I know, the stock intake and exhaust are restrictive...I'll be taking care of that in the next two months, and maybe even an LSD as well...
Pics of the car will be posted soon in the pics/vids section... Anyways this is quite a step up for me- my last contour was an atx zetec!

Very nice! This one is for DemonSVT: How about it.....another of them there ported oval port 3L engines with SVT cams, intake, & pcm performing near identical with a comparable ported split port...with/without 3L valves!!!! (How old is this argument???)

Stock intake and exhaust.
That's easily 10-15 FWHP/TQ
It sure noses over past 6200rpm.

Then once he gets an exhaust and intake, he should be right at the same #'s I'll be at once I get mine tuned. My estimate is in the 205-210FWHP and 200FWTQ range. That's without 3L valves.

By the way, I'm open to suggestions for which intake and exhaust setup I'm going to use ...looking for an exhaust on the quiet side though.
Did a search and only came up with 1 or 2 posts for "quiet exhaust"
Oh...
Will doing the intake/exhaust mess with my current tune at all?
Probably going to have to get the car tuned again...

For an exhaust on the quiet side, I'd definitely recommend the Borla.

Good call Stazi. But I thought we could get away with ~13.0:1 - 13.5:1 compression on a N/A application? If not, expect to lose a couple of HP if you decide to fatten the AFR.

FYI this is the one I posted a little bit ago. It is the one I built for Nate. The air/fuel curve came from a sensor going in the exhaust tip so the points will be leaner than they actually are. It is tuned. You won't see torque like in the low RPM from an untuned car.

Actually it's "richer" at the motor than out back at the tailpipe, but I know what you mean . I was taking for granted that the tuner would actually use a wideband. Looks good though, the torque is definitely
