I'm sad oh so sad!
I bought a set of tail lights this morning from a junkyard in hopes to replace the ones I scratched this winter(stupid me, forgot they were plastic) And I got them out of a pre 98 and I fitted them into a post 98 in the yard so I figured I was okay. but now I realize they plugs for the lights are different!
Can I cut them so they will fit? Any suggestions?

not sure if you noticed this either, but the light shape that glows in a pre 98 is actually an oval, whereas the post 98 is more of a trapezoid.

waht you can do is cut the wiring off the car you got them off of and splice the new sockets into your car

muhaha I am God of Dremel! I took about 2 hours and honed out my tails lights! That ought to give me at least another 20 HP! okay now to be serious. I took a dremel and cut down all the extra crap and make the hole to fit the post 98 socket. all its good oh and i'm painting on racoon eyes onto the pre 98 tail lights. Since they have circles inside instead of a trapazoid. I know it sounds rice, but I have no money to do anything expensive If I don't like them I'll just have to put the old ones in but I think it will be small enough not to stand out like a boeing wing haha. I'll post pics when I'm done.

If you have paint, why not paint the grille, or the calipers, or anything ELSE than something you ALREADY think might be rice?

lol funny funny! I'm trying to not go rice.(i.e. everyone buying one of two sets of the uber popular eclispe tail lights) I just want some little differences that make my Tour different. Painting the drums might not be bad cause mine are starting to get a great rust coating on them! working on the pics for the passenager side.

I see what you mean about racoon eyes. Why not paint all of the light outside the circles? IMO that would look better.
