in the future I plan to purchase a full SVT suspension from a friend for a reasonable price... The suspenion has 71K miles on it. He says that it still rode well after he took them out to replace them with a custom setup (which is the only reason he replaced it all). Since I wasnt able to get the suspesion I origionally wanted I decided to go with a cheaper (and probably better) solution since I need a new suspension soon.

I was woundering, what is the average life of an SVT suspension? I would be happy if the suspension lasts to at least 100K miles. Since In more then a year I put 14K miles on the tour (getting ready to roll over to 114).

DO NOT BUY IT!!! Period.

My rear struts were shot with 35k on them. That is a very common occurrence with OEM. I have seen it posted countless times.

My fronts were decent but then again they had under half the mileage of your friends.

Having 70,000+ miles on the suspension means they are already past time to change them.

Do not waste your money.

Buying new OEM SVT components is very cheap. (Bill J or Fordpartsonline)

Buying the BAT or Koni kit ($600-700) is extremely reasonable for a full suspension setup.

WHen I just did mine (front and rear), the front struts wern't too bad, but the rears did not rebound at all. If you pushed the rod in, it stayed there. This was at about 88k miles, many on PA roads which aren't the best. BTW, I got the BAT euro kit, and did the work myself. That's a good way to get a great kit and save some $$$$$. Guess it depends on how mauch you have to spend. Good luck.

Yeah, stay away from them Jared. I'd buy a set of those ghetto ebay coilover strut/spring combos for $99 bucks WAAAYYY before a used SVT suspension. Demon and these guys are right, you are normally suposed to replace struts at 50,000 miles, anyways.

Just a "little" worried eh? I'll give you my 80K SVT suspension free. I think once you see how horrible of shape it's in you'll change your mind.

Just save some money and get the BAT kit, you'll be much happier!

thats the problem. I need a new suspension... I dont have a lot of money, but I figure I mide as well do an upgrade while im in the process. I like the way the SVT drives, so I would be a step closer if I had an SVT suspension... I cant take much of a drop (id like to lower about an inch) because its my year round car... and Snow is a pretty big problem here.

Should I take the suspension if I can get it for free? It rode good still before they were taken out.
