I'm so goddamn sick of this. I ordered a whole new brake kit for Stazi, and it was shipped FedEx. They just sent me an invoice for $46 !! $13 for customs taxes, fine, but $33 in brokerage handling fees ! I'm SO GODDAMN SICK OF THIS I told Stazi to mark it down on the package in big [censored] letters "RECIPIENT WILL HANDLE BROKERAGE", and he did ! And I even [censored] called them and told them I WILL HANDLE IT. I asked the [censored] [censored] csr, WILL I GET A BILL IN THE MAIL twice, and he said no ! I'm so [censored] mad, I'm tired of this [censored] brokerage [censored] ! My $300US brake kit now costs $330 ! I'm goin gto call those [censored] [censored] tommorow and I'm telling them I'm taking them to small claims to dispute it, this is [censored] ridiculous. I'm so [censored] mad right now ...

Fed Ex blows. they look all professional in their cute little outfits and trucks but they are anything but. i had to go to the main fed ex hub near my home to pick up a package cuz the retard couldnt deliver it to my house 3x! that place was so un[censored]professional! first, i walked into the office and there was no one there for about 10 minutes. i could have gone through packages and desks with no problem. finally someone shows up and just tells me to go find my package in a big pile of packages. she didnt even look at my package (no pun intended) but just had me sign some form. ive gone to UPS' local hub and they were unbelievably professional and efficient. they're not top dogs in a capitalist system for nothing.

Over the last 5-7 years FEDEX and UPS switched spots. FEDEX used to be the sh~t and UPS sucked beyond all belief. So much so I'd not buy stuff from places that only shipped "ooops" err UPS. UPS has actually become a bit better while FEDEX has dropped off the deep end to rank under UPS.

You don't understand how [censored] retarded "brokerage" is for people north of the border.
I ordered a $25US Via C3 cpu and I was charged $40 BROKERAGE, nearly TWICE the cost of the original product just so they can carry it across the 49th parallel and ensure that it isn't a bomb.
What makes me SO angry is I CALLED THEM. I TOLD THEM DO NOT HANDLE BROKERAGE I WILL. I can drive to the airport and sign the goddamn liability documents, that is NOT worth $30 !
I can't WAIT to find out how much brokerage is gonna be if I order a BAT kit.

Use USPS! I've never been charged border or brokerage fees. UPS is better than Fedex and I've dealt with DHL once and was very satisified.

UPS is always good about delivering packages without any hidden broakerage fees, handling fees, etc...
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently.

USPS is how I have stuff shipped from the US to Austria and it is by far the cheapest way I have found. The only problem is Austria is slow and my packages usually sit at customs for two weeks before getting to my post office. I have never had to pay brokerage fees with USPS.

The thing I can't comprehend about FedEx is that everything has to go through Memphis. Say I wanted to ship to my neighbor across the street it has to go to Memphis first.

i think you might be exaggerating...for onr thing no customer is allowed in the warehouse where packages are stored....
and so the driver is stupid because you were not home to sign for your package,it gets attempted 3 times and after that it must be picked up...

No, they are not. Their Brokerage fees were $50 Canadian a few years ago. I was charged for a set of struts for a previous car. And my uncle had to pay $45 in fees for a freaking shirt. From there on in, I specified USPS, and paid ~$13 for everything (taxes and duty) at the post office.

So not true. UsPS is so much cheaper everytime.
I can't imagine why they are cheaper. Maybe its because they don't pay taxes, or that they are subsidized by the government, or that they have a monopoly on post mail and can charge whatever they want... All of that and they still can't turn a profit.
USPS may be cheaper, but I would rather ship my packages via people who compete within the system, rather than using their status as a government agency to get around it.

Don't f'n change what I said in quote! WTF is a matter with you?! I shipped a flywheel to Canada. Cost me $75 to ship via USPS. They wanted duty fees so I said f em send it back on your dime then. They did & then I resent it UPS. $30!!!!!! No troubles. This is just one instance. Send similar types of things through both & UPS wins hands down every time.

actually you are wrong about that...most pkgs. do go through memphis its the main hub........but there is also a pretty large hub in indianapolis, one in newark, and one in dallas...
and you are totally wrong about shipping something to your neighbor...packages going to the same city they are picked up from do NOT go through memphis...the same station that picked it up also delivers it,so it sits there overnight..

You've got to lighten up a little dude. Seriously...
It was a rant. They're not ripping on you personally, so don't take it personally.
Also, in my experience the quality at Kinkos HAS dropped significantly since FedEx bought them out. Maybe its unrelated, but the timing is about right.

what the hell are you talking about????????????????????your post makes absolutely no sense......
first of all fedex express and fedex ground are totally seperate...no ground pkgs. go through an express facility and vice versa....
now what i said was is that if a pkg. is picked up and is going to that SAME city it was picked up from then it does NOT go through memphis it remains at that facility for delivery the next day,or whenever it is due.....
if it is going somewhere else then it is likely to go through memphis...but that is express only...
fedex ground pkgs. are still sorted through the same system as they did when they were RPS,they do NOT go through express sorting facilities...and most ground employees are contract(all their drivers are)they do not actually work for fedex corporation...they bought out RPS a few yrs. ago, took over their management and pretty much things go as they did when they were rps..

You've got to lighten up a little dude. Seriously...
It was a rant. They're not ripping on you personally, so don't take it personally.
Also, in my experience the quality at Kinkos HAS dropped significantly since FedEx bought them out. Maybe its unrelated, but the timing is about right.
jesus i was joking about the garbage truck...i see its ok for him to talk trash, then say he's kidding, but that's ok
actually fedex taking over kinko's didn't change anything...they have the same EMPLOYEES,offer all the same services they ever did, same management, just that fedex upper manegement runs things now...they did not change enyhting however about how the co. runs...

actually you are wrong about that...most pkgs. do go through memphis its the main hub........but there is also a pretty large hub in indianapolis, one in newark, and one in dallas...
and you are totally wrong about shipping something to your neighbor...packages going to the same city they are picked up from do NOT go through memphis...the same station that picked it up also delivers it,so it sits there overnight..
I was told that by a friend who knows a lot of ppl at FedEx.

fedex ground pkgs. are still sorted through the same system as they did when they were RPS,they do NOT go through express sorting facilities...and most ground employees are contract(all their drivers are)they do not actually work for fedex corporation...they bought out RPS a few yrs. ago, took over their management and pretty much things go as they did when they were rps..
Ya... makes it complicated to pick up packages here. Express is up at the airport (on the other side of town), ground is out in BFE on a dirt road. If you go to express to pick up a package, they've got a stack of maps there with detailed directions on how to get to ground. Really nice since they don't give ya an address on the little thing they leave on the door.
Not only that, but the one here is 1/2 mile off the road with a tiny unlit sign... then on both sides of the driveway is "No Trespassing" signs. I drove around for a couple hours trying to find that place
At least it's not as bad as DHL. They have an unmanned office (so if a driver isn't there, nobody will answer the door) with "Airborne Express" above the door and a UPS drop off point that says they will not pick anything up there anymore.
I don't even know where UPS is here...

I ordered a whole new brake kit for Stazi, and it was shipped FedEx.
They just sent me an invoice for $46 !! $13 for customs taxes, fine, but $33 in brokerage handling fees !
I'm SO GODDAMN SICK OF THIS
I told Stazi to mark it down on the package in big [censored] letters "RECIPIENT WILL HANDLE BROKERAGE", and he did !
I'm so [censored] mad right now ...
first and foremost do you even know how customs works????you are mad a spouting off about something that fedex has no control over....
you do realize that custome has nothing to do with fedex...and customs is really cracking down these days, and if something is missing or wrong with YOUR paperwork, then customs is fining fedex...so you don't think they are going to charge that fine to YOU since it is not fedex's fault your pkg. has a problem in customs.....
so who did you call and tell you would be handling brokerage???(if your even allowed to do that)did you call customs or fedex????from what i understand if you don't want to let the CUSTOMS people handle brokerage, then you have to provide a brokerage co. to handle it at customs...i didn't think you were allowed to go to customs and just tell them your handling brokerage...
and you don't think fedex is going to pass the fine on to you when it is not their responsibility to ensure all paperwork and everything is in order????and i doubt you will even be heard in small claims court over something fedex has no control over....you do realze fedex and customs are seperate and what customs says or does goes period, and if they fine you there's nothing you can do about it..

well your friend is wrong.....i have worked for fedex for 13 years and i can tell you that they don't all go through memphis....
when i was in nashville all the pkgs. that went to our area were placed aside scanned and left there to go out the next day..that is how it works at all stations around the country..
there seems to be that myth floating around that everything has to go thru memphis which isn't true...even my economics teacher a couple years ago was trying to tell my class that and i had to correct him
