Hey guys, im having problems replacing the Brake pads on my 95 SE. Its the rear pads and my problem is this: when i'm supposed to push back the piston its really hard to get it back, i used a C-Clamp and everything and its still not working, i spent probably 3 hours trying to get it back and it wouldent go back far enough to get the new Pads on, Any help would be

First I thought all but the SVTs had drum brakes. If you have discs they have a parking brake cable that ratchets to adjust the rear braqkes when you pull the parking brake . When you replace the rear brakes you have to screw the piston back in with a special tool, not expensive.

Some SE's got them too. I had disks all around on my 95 SE.

Some SE's got them too. I had disks all around on my 95 SE.
All V6 95 thru 97 had rear disc brakes and 98 and newer all V6 with manual trans had rear disc brakes.

My "special tool" is a pair of needlenose pliers.

Big Jim you are right and I should know better. Yes the early models with the V6 had rear discs. When I go to the junk yard I look for V6s with disc to pull off the knuckle and calipers. Not many but did get one set. Plan to put on daughters 98 v6 ATX.
