Hey guys. I have a 98 contour se with 63k. the car runs great but my cel is on. took it to autozone it pulled P0171 and P1131. The guy said is was the o2 sensor on the driver side manifold,so i changed it and about 2 days later the cel went off. Then 4 days later it came back on went back to autozone and it pulled the same codes. what do i do, i'm good with cars but never really had to work on this car so any pointers would help? And if any one knows how to fix a loose airbag cover on my steering wheel, looked behind the wheel but no screws?

PO171 sucks really bad to have. I had it and it coming back, spent over $200 to try to fix it, 02 sensors, vacuum lines, MAF cleaning/replacement.
Finally the problem turned out to be the injector O rings had gone bad and were letting a littel bit of extra air in on the intake stroke, creating a vacuum leak, computer noticed it and sent on the CEL.

it only really sucks if you waste your money trying to fix a million other things, IMO.

I was told the o2 sensor on the exhaust maifold (which i changed) was why the P0171 code was coming up (mass air sensor) and i've been getting the rotten egg smell. so if i changed the sensor shouldn't my P1131 code have gone away????
